The Idea Dies When the Conversation Does

April 9, 2024

When you brainstorm with different people, you often find yourself learning from a wide range of personalities and thought processes. Some people are short winded, others are more verbose in thought. Some get hung up on a specific idea (whether good or not), others move around a lot.

But the most important thing about ideation is stamina. How long can you keep the idea(s) flowing? How long can you continue the conversation? If it’s one sided, it’ll be hard to maintain. If there isn’t good energy or flow to the conversation (usually one person or both aren’t as invested), it’ll be extremely difficult to keep the idea alive.

Send articles, keep thinking about it, and keep the conversation alive. If you can’t keep an internal dialogue alive about a certain idea, you’re probably not ready to work on it.
